Water

Our logo was inspired by the Japanese Ensō symbol and Japanese artist Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” artwork. The circular brush stroke of our logo is made by the curl of a big wave of water, symbolizing clean water from sustainable fashion production/consumption as well as the threat of rising sea levels and unpredictable weather patterns from climate change.

The fashion industry uses a lot of water and pesticides to grow cotton, which leads to water scarcity/contamination, soil erosion/degradation in different parts of the world. Chemicals and dyes in the manufacturing process pollute the rivers and groundwater near factories. When clothing made from synthetic textiles, such as polyester and nylon, are washed, microplastics are released into our water and the ocean, harming marine ecosystems, as well as land animals and human beings. When we extend the life of clothing, we reduce the need for fashion production and decrease pollution.
