Matthew Persky has always been interested in protecting marine ecosystems. He started learning about how climate change impacted critically endangered marine wildlife species in kindergarten. At age 11, he traveled to Latin America to explore conservation efforts for marine habitats affected by rising temperatures due to global warming as well as by the increasing amount of plastic and pollution created by human beings. Matthew founded The Equality Collective, a nonprofit organization to promote climate action and equality by providing resources to underserved communities worldwide. By distributing clothing to those in need, EverWear (an initiative of The Equality Collective) achieves both objectives by extending the life of clothing that would otherwise be disposed of in the dump or by incineration. Matthew believes that everybody, regardless of their differences, should have an equal chance and opportunity to succeed and thrive in sustainable communities.
After establishing The Equality Collective, he has personally distributed clothing to underserved people in Asia as well as resources to Latin American schools for special needs children and youth who escaped from violence, abuse, and exploitation. He has also distributed resources to African, Central Asian, and other communities worldwide through charity organizations he partners with. The Equality Collective has also distributed resources to Eastern European refugees and victims of natural disasters in the Middle East.

As a child of an immigrant, Daniel Persky visited Latin America and Southeast Asia, where he empathized with underserved youth who had few resources to survive, let alone thrive. Daniel founded The Equality Collective, which has various initiatives that champion equality and sustainability. The initiatives all work together to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion in education, exercise, health, and fitness, so that individuals in under-resourced communities can achieve optimal performance and enjoy greater access to career opportunities and higher quality of life.
